My name is Ms. Z and I am super excited to be your math teacher.
Middle school math is amazing! You will work your way through all kinds of new math concepts from integers to solving equations, from graphing to geometry and probability to percents and, as always, we will find time for a little “math for candy!” We have so much to learn and I am excited for the year!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me either by email or dropping by room 26. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!!
Teaching is my passion! I love being a teacher and I feel blessed to be doing something that I truly enjoy.
I started my teaching career in 2000 teaching fourth grade in the Los Angeles School District. I taught in Los Angeles for seven years before moving with my family to Eugene. Shortly after moving to Eugene in 2007, I started teaching middle school math at WCS. I enjoy teaching math immensely and middle school is my favorite level to teach.
I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology and US History. In 2007, I graduated from California Lutheran University with a Master’s Degree in Teaching. I currently have an Oregon State Teaching License with endorsements in Mathematics and English to Speakers of Other Languages. I also have an ACSI Teaching License.
When I am not teaching, I love being creative. I enjoy painting, drawing and making colorful art pieces. I also enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, a Golden Retriever named Murphy. She is the love of my life!
