About Mike La Sage
Mike is a bona-fide Eugene native, born and raised here many years ago. He finished journalism and educational leadership programs through the University of Oregon, and secondary education programs from Western Oregon University.
Mike is the proud—and honored—father of three: Jesse, who’s 37 and works in Portland; Caleb, 23, who is working his way through a physical therapy program at a university in Michigan; and Kira, 19, who finished her first year of college at Linfield in McMinnville. Mike has been calling his bride Luanne “Sweetheart” for 33 years now, and they’re only just beginning. They love most outdoor activities, especially those where their two dogs, Sedona and Zoey, can join.
If Mike had two days to spend anywhere, with no limitations, it would definitely be at the Oregon Coast, near Bandon. And if there’s one dessert that captures Mike’s imagination, it has to be cheesecake with some kind of berry involved.
One song that speaks especially powerfully to Mike at this point in life is Matthew West’s “Broken Things.” And if there’s a book that captures Mike’s love for his Savior in our world today, it has to be “Good Faith,” from David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons.
